If you are experiencing problems with your electrics or are perhaps selling or buying a new home and would like a
thorough check of all power and lighting circuits, CDS are NICEIC approved contractors and are able to provide two
levels of testing to locate and advise you on any faults present.
A Domestic Visual Condition Report is a visual inspection of all power and lighting circuits to check that the wiring
is in an acceptable condition. All results are recorded and presented in a report together with an itemised estimate
of any defects found. Domestic Electrical Installation Periodic Inspection Report, is a more thorough test involving
the use of the latest test equipment. All electrical accessories are inspected and checked for correct operation and
as before the results are recorded and presented in a report together with an itemised estimate.
With the introduction of revised building regulations in January 2005 there is now a requirement that is important for
all homeowners to know about if they are considering buying or selling a property - Part P
Part P relates specifically to all electrical installation work that has been carried out in your home either by a
professional or DIY. All work must be checked and certified by a Part P approved contractor to ensure the work will
not be a cause of injury or fire. At CDS our engineers are Part P approved and are able to certify any work they
have undertaken in your home.
